What happens to individual stars in colliding galaxys?

one point of infinite gravity will overtake another, and you can create a under-telephonic black hole. its like bigger fish gobbling up smaller fish. if you are lucky, the star's gravitational fields will even themselves out and it wont be too chaotic. all life would die because the mass of billions of solar systems would be crammed into half the space. that would create major pressure issues.
